What We Collect

Your name, email, friend contacts (name, email, phone), and bill data you create (receipt images, amounts, participants). That's it.

What We Don't Do

We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We don't run ads or trackers. Period.

Encryption

All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and stored with bank-grade encryption at rest.

Receipt Images

Uploaded receipt images are processed by AI to extract line items, then stored securely in your private account. You can delete any bill — and its image — at any time.

AI Processing

Receipt data is sent to our AI service solely for OCR extraction and bill analysis. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Payments

Premium is paid manually via M-PESA and verified by the SnapSplit team. We never see or store your card details.

Your Control

You can export, modify, or permanently delete all your data at any time from Settings. Account deletion removes everything within 30 days.

Compliance

SnapSplit is designed to comply with GDPR, CCPA, and international data protection standards.

Data We Collect When You Use SnapSplit

• Account details: your name and email address, used to sign in and secure your account.
• Bills and splits: the receipt images you upload, amounts, participants, payments and notes you create.
• Friends and groups: the names and contact details (email, phone) you choose to save for faster splitting.
• Payment references: the M-PESA confirmation code you submit when buying Premium, reviewed manually by our team.
• Push notification tokens: used only to deliver the notifications you opt into.

Third Parties We Rely On

SnapSplit runs on Base44 infrastructure (hosting, database and authentication). Receipt images are processed by our AI provider for OCR extraction only. Payment status emails may be sent through our email provider. Push notifications are delivered via your browser's push service. These providers process data only to deliver the service to you.

Children's Privacy

SnapSplit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Contact & Deletion

You can export, modify or permanently delete all of your data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which removes your account and all associated data. Questions about privacy? Contact Base44 support and we'll respond promptly.
